A tasty homemade treat is always a good thing...Here is my Grandmother's classic, best ever, super good, brownie recipe. The pink frosting is particularly appropriate for this sweet day of love. Let me know what you think...
Pink Peppermint Fudgies
For the fudgies:
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
1 stick butter
2 eggs
1 c. sugar
1 t. vanilla
½ c. flour
Dash of salt
Melt 2 squares chocolate and 1 stick of butter over low heat. Cool slightly.
Add 2 eggs, 1 cup sugar, vanilla, flour and salt. Mix until combined. Pour into buttered 9x9 inch pan. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Cool completely before frosting.
Pink Frosting:
2 c. powdered sugar
2 T. butter
2 T. milk
1 ½ t. peppermint extract
A few drops red food coloring
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
1 T. butter
Blend 2 c. powdered sugar, 2 T. butter, milk, peppermint and food coloring until smooth and
spreadable. Cover fudgies, and chill in refrigerator for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, combine remaining chocolate squares and butter in small sauce pan
over low heat until melted. Drizzle chocolate mixture
over frosted fudgies. Cut into squares.
Yum!
